To determine the relationship between primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and alterations in mitochondrial genome, cytochrome c oxidase (COX) activity, and oxidative stress.
A complete evaluation of the mitochondrial genome, employing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) sequencing, was performed on 75 primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) cases and 105 healthy controls.
